A barista's drive for success in the online roasting arena can be intense!. At times, it can seem like a never-ending battle of one-upping competitors. (Though, not all baristas take this route!) But for those who do, this drive to succeed and stand out from the rest is what gets them to the top! Not only must these baristas have an encyclopedic knowledge of coffee beans and brewing techniques but they must also be willing to take risks.
Being a barista is not always the easiest job, but when you love coffee (as much as I do), it makes it all worth it!. Today was no exception; On my way to work, I knew this day would be different.
As a barista, it's my responsibilit(y) to take and fulfill customer orders in an efficient manner. Firstly, I must greet customers warmly and ask what they would like. Secondly, I prepare the drinks according to the customer's specifications (and offer advice on any special requests). Thirdly, I check that all of the items are correct before handing them over.
